As parents, we know how important it is to prepare our little ones for school—it’s a big step in their early development! School readiness isn’t just about learning the ABCs and 123s; it’s also about nurturing social, emotional, cognitive, and physical skills that set the stage for a smooth start to the schooling timeline. At Brilliant Minds, we truly understand the significance of this exciting milestone. That’s why we offer a personalised package designed to help your child start school with confidence and enthusiasm. Let’s embark on this wonderful adventure together!
Our assessment package, based on the DIAL-4, evaluates your child's development across five key early childhood areas:
Motor Skills: Assessing both gross motor skills (e.g., jumping, hopping) and fine motor skills (e.g., building with blocks, writing).Language Skills: Evaluating a child’s ability to answer personal questions, articulate, identify objects, and understand basic phonemic awareness.Concepts: Measuring a child’s understanding of numbers, colors, shapes, and concepts linked to early learning and potential disabilities.Self-Help: Observing personal care abilities like dressing, eating, and grooming.Social Development: Assessing social interactions, rule-following, sharing, self-control, and empathy. This thorough assessment offers valuable insights into your child's readiness for school. Being ready for school means your child can embrace new experiences with curiosity and resilience, setting them up for success.

What Is Included?
The package is tailored to each client's specific needs, so an exact breakdown cannot be provided. Please see below what is typically included in the assessment:
1. Personalised Intake - Every child is unique, and so is their development. Our program begins with a thorough intake session, where we work with parents/guardians and if possible, child care teachers to gain a complete understanding of your child’s strengths and areas of support. The child assessment itself takes about two hours, during which we evaluate your child’s motor, language, and conceptual skills, personal care skills, as well as social and emotional development.
2. Comprehensive Reporting: We understand that you want clear insights into your child’s readiness for school. After the assessment, our team spends three hours crafting a detailed report that highlights your child’s current developmental stage. This report will outline areas where your child excels and any potential areas that may need further support, providing a clear action plan.
3. Feedback and Support: Once the report is complete, we schedule a one-hour feedback session with you to discuss the findings. This session is an opportunity for us to provide recommendations and resources tailored to your child’s needs, ensuring they are fully prepared to enter school with confidence.
Cost: The package is tailored to each client's specific needs, so an exact quote cannot be provided in advance. However, the cost will range between $220 and $1,980.Please note that this is not a diagnostic assessment but may offer valuable insights and recommendations for further evaluation if concerns arise. Medicare EPCs and private health insurance are accepted. NDIS funding can be utilised. We accept NDIS Self and Plan Managed clients.
