Our Story
August 2014
Getting Started
In August 2014, preparations began for the opening of my inaugural practice, which required several months of careful planning. The most challenging aspect of this initial phase was establishing referrals and connections. During the early stages, Dr. Jenni Silva, acting as the sole practitioner, focused primarily on conducting ASD assessments and providing early intervention. Our humble beginnings were situated in Holland Park, where we occupied a compact area on the ground floor of a dental clinic. As our practice quickly expanded, it became evident that we required a more spacious waiting room to accommodate families. Consequently, in May 2015, we made the decision to relocate to Springwood.May 2015
The Move to a Bigger Office - Our First Employee
In May 2015, we relocated to Dennis Road in Springwood, marking an important milestone for our practice. With this move, we also welcomed our first employees, including casual administration staff and our initial team of psychologists. Additionally, during this period, I had the opportunity to mentor my first Master's student from the University of Queensland. Our new location provided a significant upgrade, featuring three therapy rooms, a spacious waiting room, and a reception area. However, we didn't have a dedicated kitchen; instead, we made do with a small resource room where we managed to squeeze in a compact fridge and a coffee machine. Fortunately, our convenient proximity to a nearby coffee shop proved to be a blessing, as it offered a great option for early morning coffee and snacks.2019 to Now (2013)
We Start to Grow and Add Other Allied Health Services
After spending a few years at Dennis Road Medical Centre, we made the decision to relocate to Springwood Tower Hotel. Initially, we started with the same space, featuring a three-room clinic. However, we lacked a dedicated kitchen area at first, but we managed to have a small space added for that purpose.During this period, our psychology team experienced rapid growth, leading to the expansion of our clinic. By 2020, we had expanded to a nine-room clinic with a fully equipped kitchen. In early 2020, we also introduced Occupational Therapy services, which further contributed to our clinic's growth. In late 2021, recognizing the needs of our team and community, we underwent a comprehensive renovation to expand our facilities. The renovation included the addition of an Occupational Therapy sensory room, a staff breakout room with a kitchen, ample meeting and lunch space, twelve therapy rooms with adjustable lighting, resource and storage rooms, as well as a well-sized reception and waiting area. We continuously make improvements to ensure our clinic remains comfortable and welcoming for both our staff and clients. Most recently, in June, we updated the lighting in the waiting area and staff break out areas to create a calming atmosphere. Furthermore, we have added sensory toys and essential oils for our clients, which are available for purchase, enhancing their experience at our clinic.
