Early Years Cognitive, Behavioural and Academic Assessment Package
This assessment package is designed for children in Prep to Grade 2 who have been referred due to concerns in the areas of early reading, spelling, reading comprehension, attention, or behaviour concerns have been raised by the teacher or school.
This assessment provides detailed insights into your child's learning profile, cognitive abilities, and behavioural patterns. The findings will assist in educational planning, early interventions, and tailored support strategies to enhance your child’s learning experience.
Purpose of the AssessmentThis assessment helps identify whether your child is experiencing difficulties with:
- Decoding words and letters essential for early reading skills- Basic reading, spelling, and comprehension development- Attention and concentration challenges that may affect learning.- Behavioural concerns (impulse or hyperactive behaviour) impacting academic progressIt provides a comprehensive evaluation of cognitive and early academic abilities, highlighting strengths and areas requiring support or intervention.
Assessment Inclusions- As part of this assessment, behavioural questionnaires are sent to parents and teachers. Additionally, the Teacher Questionnaire is completed by the school/teacher to provide insight into learning and behavioural concerns, supporting the overall assessment process.

Session 1: Parent/Guardian Intake Session

Session 2: Cognitive Assessment with Child

Session 4: Attention Assessment with Child

Parent/Guardian Feedback Session and Report
The feedback session is 1 hour in duration. You will be given the report on this day.

This assessment is based on 13 hours of clinical time.
A $500 non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking.
This assessment is not covered by Medicare. If you have private health insurance, please contact your provider to see how much they can cover for you.
The private health code for assessment is 100.
