Package 2: Neuroaffirming Comprehensive Adult Autism Assessment

- This assessment is designed to be neuroaffirming and utilises the MIGDAS-2 Diagnostic Interview. It is important for the clinician to thoroughly read the relevant pages and familiarize themselves with the assessment. The MIGDAS-2 is a straightforward diagnostic structured interview that will be used in this assessment.
- Our autism assessment appointments, whether conducted in person or via telehealth, are designed to be neurodiversity-affirming. These appointments typically involve approximately 2 hours of discussing potential autistic traits, qualities, and experiences using the MIGDAS-2 interview tool. The MIGDAS-2 is widely recognised as one of the most neuroaffirming assessment tools available for autism.
- If you are under 25 years of age, it is preferred that you bring a parent, carer, or another adult who knew you during childhood to your assessment appointment. Their presence can provide valuable insights into your developmental history.
- For individuals over 25 years of age, you have the option to bring a support person to the appointments if you wish, although it is not mandatory.
- The Comprehensive Adult Autism Assessment includes the following:
- Session 1: Adult Clinicia DSM-5 Diagnostic Assessment Intake Interview using the MIGDAS-2 (up to 90 minutes). Your clinician following this appointment will spend 1 hour scoring the diagnostic Interview as per recommended guideliens.
- Session 2: Cognitive Assessment using WAIS-IV (2 hours)
- Session 3: Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS-2), Module 4 Testing (1 hour)
- Session 4: Feedback Session (1 hour)
- A comprehensive report with recommendaitons will be provided. Please note that there is a two to three week turn around for report writing. There will be a four week turnaround for reprot writing if the assessmetn is booked in with a Provisional Psychologist. You will be provided with this information at the time of booking an assessment. Total Cost is based on 12 hours of clinicians time based on our assessment rate. A $400 non refundable deposit is required at the time of booking.
- Optional: If further assessment of ADHD of ADHD is warranted we may recommend that your undergo a further one hour of testing using the a computerised attention test. An additional 2 hours at our assessment rates are charged when this occurs to cover 1 hour of resting an 1 hour of scoring/report writing.
- This assessment is not covered under Medicare.
