Kimberley Huang
Kimberley has a warm and empathetic therapeutic style, aiming to create a safe space where people can discuss their concerns. She utilises a client-centred approach and evidence-based treatments to provide personalised, individualised care. She primarily works with young children, early adolescents, and their families experiencing emotional difficulties (e.g., anxiety, emotion regulation, low self-esteem, school avoidance and adjustment challenges) and interpersonal problems (e.g., social skills difficulties and bullying). She is also passionate about working with children and families supporting neurodiversity, including ADHD and ASD, to help parents and young people better understand neuro-developmental differences and build practical skills to support emotional, social, and daily functioning. Her work in this area has primarily focused on developing individualised behavioural management strategies, providing parenting support, and collaborating with schools to support children with ADHD and ASD in the school environment.
Kimberley also has a strong interest and extensive training in psycho-educational assessment, with a particular focus on learning disorders, ASD, and ADHD assessments in children and adolescents. She has experience conducting comprehensive assessments to support diagnosis and to inform tailored recommendations for intervention across home, school, and community settings. Throughout the assessment process, Kimberley works closely with key stakeholders to ensure a comprehensive and accurate understanding of each young person’s strengths as well as the challenges they experience across different environments.
