About the Package

Early Years ADOS-2 Assessment

Brilliant Minds Psychology has been conducting ADOS assessments for over a decade. Please select this package only if your child has been specifically recommended the ADOS-2 by your paediatrician in conjunction with their assessment. If this is not the case, we advise choosing Psychology Assessment Package 5. Please note this is not a diagnostic assessment. This assessment is our Early Years Assessment suitable for 5 years and under. A paediatrician referral is needed for this assessment. Reports are written as part of a paediatricians comprehensive evaluation. What is the ADOS-2? The Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule-Second Edition (ADOS-2) is a widely used tool that helps professionals assess and diagnose autism in both children and adults. It involves a series of structured activities, such as play for younger children or conversation for older individuals, that are designed to observe specific behaviors linked to autism. The activities are adapted based on the person's age and communication abilities, making it a flexible and thorough assessment

The Assessment Breakdown/How It Works

Session 1: Parent/Guardian Intake Session
1 Hour Session Information gathering session This can be conducted in the clinic or via telehealth
Session 2: Child Session 1
1 Observation Session with Child (1 Hour With Child ) - Must be Conducted On Clinic Premises
Report
A report is provided for your paediatrician to review. Based on 4 hours of clinical time. (includes scoring and report writing)
How Is The Assessment Scheduled?
We generally schedule the assessment to occur over the course of a single day. The feedback session will be arranged within a 2 to 4 week timeframe.

Cost

$1320

This assessment is based on 6 hours of clinical time with an Occupational Therapist. Please note we charge additional fees based on our hourly rate for any work beyond this scope. If a home or school visit is requested, additional charges and travel costs apply. A $500 non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking. This assessment is not covered by Medicare. If you have private health insurance, please contact your provider to see how much they can cover for you. This is not a diagnostic assessment.
