- About Candy
- Candy has worked at Brilliant Minds Psychology since 2015. She works Monday, Wednesday and Friday at the clinic. Candy provides therapeutic intervention and assessments at Brilliant Minds Psychology. Candy has extensive experience in diagnostic assessments and has undergone intensive training in ASD Assessment. Candy has a weatlh of experience and enjoys working with young children, children and adults. Candy is registered as a general psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Candy is fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin. Candy has worked at Brilliant Minds Psychology since 2015 and is one of our most experienced child psychologists. Candy is highly trained in assessment of autism spectrum conditions and learning disorders.
- Candy works with children of all ages in the areas of general behavioural management including sleep problems and toilet training, social skills training, as well as emotional management (anxiety and anger). Candy also consults with adults in the areas of emotional management and various sleep disorders, providing therapy and counselling based on evidenced based therapy.
- Candy has undergone specific training in Perinatal Psychology and this is an area of interest for her.
- Candy has extensive experience in the area of Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), her work in this area has mainly focused on developing individualised behavioural management strategies, parenting support, and working with schools to support children with ASD in the school environment. She has extensive experience in early intervention for young children with an ASD. Candy is also experienced in providing social skills education (individualised or in group) and emotional development training in persons with ASD.
- Candy has a special interest and extensive training in assessment for determining IQ, education assessments, ADHD Assessment, giftedness, intellectual strengths and weaknesses, as well as identifying specific learning disorders i.e. reading, written expression and mathematics impairment. She also provides diagnostic assessment for Autism Spectrum Disorders for children using gold standard measures including the ADOS and ADI-R.

- About Amanda
- Amanda is an AHPRA approved Educational and Developmental Psychologist. She holds a Masters in Educational and Developmental Psychology and has a high level of experience in supporting children and adolescents across all areas of their development, learning, psychosocial skills, and supports adolescents as they transition into their adult life. Amanda has worked across a variety of settings, including schools, community support services and private practice. Amanda has registration with the Psychology Board of Australia and is a member of the Australian Psychological Society.
- Amanda has a warm, empathic, client centred approach and works from strong evidence based therapy frameworks, including cognitive-behaviour therapy, attachment, and trauma informed therapies. Amanda is passionate about understanding her client and taking the time to get to know and clarify the needs of her clients and their families.
- Amanda has extensive training in the administration, interpretation and evaluation of educational and behavioural assessments. Amanda is passionate about formulating and implementing personalised and effective behaviour management plans, and learning and support plans. Amanda works in conjunction with the client and family's needs and directives, as well as the key stakeholders in a client's life, including schools and the key professionals support the client such as doctors, speech pathologists and occupational therapist.
- Supervision: Amanda is a Board Approved Supervisor, and approved to supervise provisional psychologist undertaking the 4+2, 5+1 students. Amanda can also supervisor Edu and Dev psychologist undertaking their area of endorsement and Master students.
