About the Package

Adult Sensory Processing Assessment

A Sensory Processing Assessment for adults involves evaluating how you navigate and respond to sensory information in your daily life. This assessment considers the impact of your environment on various aspects of your behavior and overall well-being. Following the assessment, you will receive a detailed report summarising your sensory processing profile and outlining how your sensory responses may influence your performance in everyday activities.
It's important to note that a formal diagnosis is not necessary for a sensory assessment, although this assessment is particularly beneficial for individuals with an ASD diagnosis.
Various challenges may make a Sensory Processing Assessment suitable, including but not limited to:- Sensitivity to noises or smells causing distraction- Engaging in rocking or shaking behaviors- Limb flinging or spinning tendencies- Difficulty holding objects- Challenges in recognising changes in temperature- Struggles with learning due to a need for constant movement- Difficulty sustaining attention, getting distracted by sensory stimuli- Discomfort or distress in light or loud environments- Clumsiness leading to frequent collisions with people or objects- Sensory processing issues impacting the ability to enjoy life and learn.
This assessment aims to provide valuable insights into your sensory processing profile, offering a foundation for understanding and addressing challenges that may affect your daily experiences. What information will I receive following a Sensory assessment?Following an assessment, your occupational therapist will write a report withrecommendations. A feedback session is conducted where your Occupationaltherapist will explain the outcome of the assessment and how this is impactingfunction.
