About Rachel
Rachel prefers working in partnership with parents/caregivers, teachers' and other professionals to get the best possible outcomes for children and young people. She considers how multiple environments interact and affect learning, behaviour and wellbeing. These environments include homes, learning, community and wider society. She has an interest in culturally responsive practice, incorporating child voice and drawing on the strengths of the young person and their family. She enjoys providing therapeutic support to youth to help them develop the skills to navigate challenges, their relationships with others and their transition to adulthood.
Rachel is a New Zealand trained Educational Psychologist who is AHPRA registered, endorsed in Educational and Developmental Psychologist. She has 22 years' experience in supporting children with complex trauma and severe behaviour challenges. She has worked in social services, education, a youth health service, and consultancy with the Ministry of Education.
